An emoji is a small digital image used to express an idea or emotion in messages or social media posts. Emoji were invented in the late 1990s in Japan, and became very popular there. They started to be used a lot globally in 2010, and became the fastest growing language in the UK in 2015. Following the most recent updates there are currently a total of 3,633 emojis. New emojis in the latest update include coral, to show the effects of climate change. However, more than a third of British adults believe that emojis are destroying the English language.

What's your opinion? Come and share your thoughts!!!!
